Story, Setting, and characters

There aren’t a lot of stories when it comes to SnowRunner, as it is just about you trying to expand your fleet of trucks to take on more jobs. The trucks themselves also serve as characters, and you never really meet a person in the game, but they all have function and personality.

Most story is based on the missions in the Setting, which will vary in the three different environments. You start in Michigan by cleaning up after some flooding and then unlock the last two areas, Alaska and Taymyr. The missions are simple, often picking up or dropping something off and leaving you to the challenge.

Your first tasks are to unlock the observation tower and rebuild the bridge to get to the garage. Repeat this pattern with each new location and region on the map. Always try to unlock the road at the beginning - it can be a wooden bridge, a steel bridge, or a tame made of rocks. Then, choose the observation towers.

SnowRunner Game features

Challenge is one of the most pronounced features of this game. In various environments come many hurdles, such as slipping on ice or getting bogged down in the mud. Then the challenge becomes how to get your truck and cargo out of it.

Another significant feature is the sheer amount of trucks that are featured in-game. There're 40 different types for you to choose from and add to your fleet. From small scout trucks on the way up to huge semis, all are upgradable. These are also based on real-life brands, including Ford and Chevy.

The vehicles in the game are separated into various categories, let's take a look at those now. There is Highway, Heavy Duty, Heavy, Offroad, and Scout. Future DLC may add new categories, but for now, there are just these 5.

SnowRunner PC has generally been well-received on Metacritic. It possesses a score of 81 with critics and 6.9 with audiences.

One of the gamers share his mind about ‘’Snowrunner”, “Ever since I watched the trailer, I've been hyped to get the game. I've recently caved in and bought it, and boy was that a good decision. I spent the first 2 hours frustrated that I kept getting stuck whenever I tried to go offroad and had to recover. After I slowly started getting money, I also discovered hidden upgrades for certain trucks. Then I went offroad. I've had the game for a month and It already has over 15 hours into it. The game is so realistic, that it blows my mind. If you have heavy cargo and go uphill, sometimes you can't turn because the rear is heavy and the front is light making the front lift and you can't steer... You can pick vehicles up with cranes and load them onto trucks for exploring. Mud sticks to your vehicle's side when you tip, and damaged fuel tanks in water create dark clouds in mud puddles and rivers. I could go on about the realism, but surprisingly, the photo mode is the best I've ever seen. Honestly, a photographer could play Snowrunner and enjoy it just taking pictures. I'm already getting the DLC. The downsides, however, need addressing too. The driving feels wonky sometimes, and I often find myself swerving all over the road. The only other thing I can think of is suspension randomly getting damaged just driving on flat ground. In conclusion, The music and setting, with sunbeams cutting through the treetops and the satisfying running water make the game oddly relaxing, and combined with the amazing gameplay, will be a must-play for any truck or delivery game fan. The cargo diversity does not let your expectations down.’’
