A doomed sailor is shipwrecked on an uncharted island. In fog-shrouded valleys, where grinning, mossy corpses cling to rusted arms, shambling figures begin to stir. Beneath crumbling, salt-worn structures, labyrinthine passageways lead to unspeakable evil, long forgotten by man.
Salt and Sanctuary cd key seamlessly combines fast, brutal, and complex 2D combat with richly developed RPG mechanics. Discover, craft, and upgrade over 600 weapons, armor pieces, spells, and items as you explore a cursed realm of forgotten cities, blood-soaked dungeons, desecrated monuments, and the fallen lords they once celebrated.
From Ska Studios, the award-winning indie studio behind a long list of stylistic, visceral, and brutally executed action titles that include The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile, The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai, and Charlie Murder, comes Salt and Sanctuary PC, the studio’s most ambitious title to date.
The player, who rated the game with the highest rank, says, “Good game, "very" well-done mix of Metroidvania and souls-like, but there are issues with the game... Salt & Sanctuary is Ska's studios first attempt with souls-like and their Metroidvania, they brought beautiful art and music to the game, yet unfortunately due to their totally understandable inexperience, combat and balancing are somewhat botched. Nonetheless a good game, though look towards Nexus or something for a balancing mod if you would rather not have this jank while you play it. Once again, I don't hate the game, it's very good for the first attempt at souls-like, but just be aware of what to expect.“ Another gamer shares his mind, “Pretty fun although the story was a bit lacking as compared to other platformers I've played. In addition, while I do love boss battles, it seems like a lot of the ones (and there were *a lot* of boss battles) were beat less by putting in the time to learn the enemy's moves and more by changing out your equipment + using blessings, the bosses weren't super interesting mechanic wise. But I did enjoy this game and would recommend it. Honestly wasn't as hard as I was expecting for a game inspired by Dark Souls.“ The gamer says, “It's the perfect marriage of Dark Souls and Hollow Knight. It has the weapon and plays style variety, skill points and other RPG elements asociated with dark souls mixed with the faster more fluid combat system of hollow knights. Exploration is fun, with lots of unique biomes to explore with new enemy varieties, as well as light platforming challenges. Bosses are fun, and usually have their unique mechanics you need to figure out and overcome, also salt and sanctuary do a good job of having sanctuaries (the equivalent of dark souls bonfires) relatively close to bosses, gone are the days of running for 5 min back to the boss just to get deleted again. My only 2 gripes with the game are the lack of a map of some sort, I tend to get lost and spend a bunch of time retracing my steps to find the new passage I opened up (a simple hollow knight-esque map would be appreciated) and the wonky starter button layout for keyboard players. The latter of which can be remedied by remapping the buttons thankfully, I'd also recommend turning the mouse aiming off and playing totally keyboard-bound. Besides that 10/10 game!!!!“
