Developed by Capcom, Resident Evil 5 is a third-person shooter released back in 2009 as a major entry to the popular horror-survival Resident Evil series. It is the first main installment that features co-op gameplay for two players.
Set in the plague-infested city of Kijuju in West Africa, the players assume the role of Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance, BSAA agent, Chris Redfield, and Sheva Alomar, his new partner. Picking up five years after the events of Resident Evil 4, the players are tasked to capture Ricardo Irving before he sells BOW, a bio-organic weapon to the Black Market.
Unlike its predecessor, Resident Evil 5 features a whole new breed of infected enemies that can utilize weapons and grenades. However, there are some exciting new features for the player character as well including weapon upgrades being made without merchant right from the inventory, and equipping new weapons in real-time, which makes things a lot easier for the player.
The game comes packed with a slew of deadly weapons from short-ranged shotguns to precise sniper rifles and even explosive grenade launchers to decimate a whole bunch of infected enemies. The player also comes across numerous puzzles spread throughout the world. Players can play the two-player mode either online or using the split-screen. In case the player dies, they are sent back to the last-saved checkpoint in the game.
Resident Evil 5 explores a different path than other games in the series with a heavy emphasis on heavy action and yet it has received a lot of good reviews from the players. The game has received a Metascore of 86 and an average user score of 7.2 out of 10 on Metacritic.
Many have found Resident Evil 5 to be a great game as it unlocks co-op gameplay. The game is available to play on Microsoft Windows and it requires a free space of 8 GB.
