The player, who rated the game with the highest rank, says, "Fantastic game, combines the quality of life improvements from World and the depth of Gen U. But it does it at a nice pace. The armor design is top-notch, a significant improvement from World. Reminds me of 4U where early monster armor looks great and is functional for a long time if you want it to be. The combat is extremely smooth and slick. Every now and then the button commands are a little off but never doing combat. Exploration is encouraged, with the malamute and firebug you can zip around quickly. While in World you felt like you were in an ecosystem, this game brings back the feeling of multiple battle arenas combined to make a map for you to go toe-to-toe with the monster. Each has its benefits. But the combat, significant improvement to monster design, and weapon/armor look may put this game over the world and provide that experience that some MH vets had with World. It really is a glorious combination of Old World and New World in this game, and when all is said and done this may become the greatest MH yet. Lots of free support plus G Rank/Master Rank to come. If you have a switch, go buy this game and learn the mechanics. Arguably one of the top 5 switch games ever already." Another gamer shares his mind about this amazing game, "A phenomenal entry point into the series for newcomers and one of the better Monster Hunter games in recent memory. I love the new wire bug and switch mechanics, they really help to round out certain weapons. As an insect glaive main I was disappointed to find some pretty significant nerfs when compared to mhw/iceberg. This feels more like the older games than the world did but it's a nice blend between the two styles. Some people may not be happy to hear that the game has been massively streamlined and simplified but honestly, there is still plenty of complexity if you want to be a top player. The truth is, this just makes the game more accessible to newcomers and that's a good thing as far as I'm concerned. One thing that bugged me about this game as well as mhw was the general difficulty of the monsters, it's pretty low when compared with the older games. Iceborn tried to compensate for this by making everything hit like a truck but that's not exactly what I'm looking for. MH Rise is wicked fun and the gameplay loop is addictive as all heck, this is a Monster Hunter game that you don't have to sink 300 hours into just to learn all of the mechanics properly, this new generation of Monster Hunter games are really something special, pick it up and enjoy the ride."
