Horizon Zero Dawn is an action-adventure RPG that takes place in a far-flung future where humanity has fallen and Earth is ruled by machines.

Story, Setting, and Characters

You play as Aloy, a young outcast who comes across mysterious technology at a young age. She later learns that this technology is the remnant of the long-dead human race, and she embarks on a journey to uncover its origins, and maybe learn about her own past as well. On her journey, she will encounter unique members of different tribes, all with their own agendas and goals.

Horizon Zero Dawn Game Features

Horizon Zero Dawn features a massive open world with multiple biomes and terrains, all of which are owned and protected by many different types of mechanical monstrosities. Many of these robots resemble dinosaurs, and their vicious intent is clear when they spot you.

You are able to avoid confrontation with these robots with the use of a light stealth system that utilizes patches of tall grass and vision cones. If you’re feeling more combative, you can take on the creatures with a mix of melee and ranged combat using Aloy’s bow and staff.

When you fight the robots, pieces of them will fall off. You can even target these special parts specifically and shoot them off for collection. These are always items useful in the game’s deep crafting system.
