Story, Settings, and Character

They might leave town if you fail them, but first, they'll spend days trying to convince others to join them in a mass exodus. Frostpunk is a tense, gripping, and often stressful survival strategy game filled with difficult, sometimes unthinkable choices. It's tough to play but even tougher to stop.

Frostpunk Game Features

Players have the option to use laws to regulate the productivity of their society at the cost of possibly raising discontent by allowing child labor or forcing temporary 24-hour shifts, but also laws to develop better healthcare like prosthetics or extra rations for the sick. Technology is another gameplay feature, with the ever-colder environment forcing the city to adapt with better insulation, stronger reactors, better industrial output, and more efficient machinery.

You won't be able to get far in Frostpunk without researching new technologies in the Workplace. To survive the storm, you'll need to have researched: Generator Power Upgrade III: This is the final upgrade for the generator.

When focusing on the main objectives, Frostpunk is about 10½ Hours in length. If you're a gamer that strives to see all aspects of the game, you are likely to spend around 48 hours to obtain 100% completion.

Review and General Information

Frostpunk is rated M for Mature with Blood, Mild Sexual Themes, Mild Violence, and Strong Language. It's not rated M because of graphic violence or sex, however, but more so the mature themes and issues you're forced to deal with.

Frostpunk is currently 75% off on steam with a 9/10 rating and 4.5 stars as rated by the players. IGN wrote, "Even though the bleakness is palpable, Frostpunk is a captivating experience. The gameplay is unique and varied, using the best aspects of city-building and survival games, with a little exploration mixed in." Gamespot also gives it a rating of 9/10 and Metacritic gives it a score of 87.
