Story, Setting, and Characters

Set in the Medieval era, Chivalry 2 has you thrust 20 years after the original game. At this time, the Agatha Knights form an uprising against the Mason Order under the command of Argon II. The story progresses amongst several 64-player battles that deliver an immersive medieval experience through dialogue and objective points to engage the player further.

Chivalry 2 offers multi-stage, team-based large-scale multiplayer battles that can have up to 64 players on a battlefield at once. You can alleviate their aggression in epic castles, glorious forests, and medieval pillaging missions.

The developers used Unreal Engine 4, the height of video game development for its generation. More graphical bounds have been lept, allowing more bloodshed, missing limbs, gore, and much more visual and audial assets to enthrall the player in battle further.

Catapults tear the earth apart as you lay siege to castles, set fire to villages, and slaughter filthy peasants in the return for grand Team Objective maps.

Reviews and General Information

Chivalry 2 currently has a Metascore of 82 with a user score of 5.1. Players agree that the game has “great ideas” and a “good base,” but a severe shortage in content made the game not feel as fleshed out as expected by its prospective potential. Culture Vultures notes that games like Kingdom Come: Deliverance, For Honor, and Blade & Sorcery share gameplay elements with Chivalry 2. 

One of the gamers shares his opinion about this game, “It’s beautiful: You’ll feel like you’ve been transported back to the Middle Ages, the buildings and settings are spectacular. It’s funny: You’ll find yourself laughing almost every time you play over something that happens it’s very entertaining. It's feel-good fun: High intensity but low stress. It is like a quick MMO: But without the burden on your life. The campaign games make you feel invested like an MMO for 45 - 60 mins, pick it up for a few games then put it down.  It’s flawless: I have a relatively modern PC and my experience with stability has been excellent, it never crashes and my frame rates are smooth. The maps make excellent sense with no weird bits that might get you stuck or confused. All in all the game feels beautifully polished.  It’s a winner: Great value for the price, I would have gladly paid full price for this not $40-$50  with 100s of hours of replayability as you explore the maps, skills, and loot. I have other new games and have barely touched them. I tried Mordhau, this was a lot more friendly to my 43-year-old mind and I picked it up fairly easily with the excellent tutorial it comes with. Even at the low end of the skill level, this is very fun straight out the box, with plenty of kills from simply swinging randomly or throwing fire cocktails. The only thing I’d like to see is a few more Raid (campaign) maps as they are the MOST enjoyable/rewarding and REPLAYABLE epic experiences. That being said there are some great campaigns already available.  As a fan of magic and summoned pets not just melee, I’d love to see them experiment with a new game mode called “dragon raid” where you all get to team up against a dragon and some mobs for a 45-60 min campaign. Conclusion: If you've limited time for play and therefore you’re on the fence about wanting to jump into something like an MMO, this will give you that experience, but without the epic time investment.  The game feels like a properly polished AAA studio game not like a mod or secondary tier game like Bannerlord or Mordhau.  The dev team seems committed to a timeline of new ideas and updated maps so things will only get better and this is a sound investment 9/10 Bringing online 3 more RAID maps would make this a 10/10. Thinking out of the box with a new style of epic play such as adding a few Dragon Raid maps would make this the best game in decades.”
