You will run raids and conquer lands while painting a picture of your story the way they intend. The opportunity to grow and maintain a settlement is also available. It isn’t as extensive as a dedicated world-building game, but between bouts, you will return to a place you can call home by your design.

To secure resources you can lead raids to select locations using your longship to earn much-needed riches and resources. As the Vikings begin to settle in their new home, they encounter resistance from the Saxons including King Aelfred of Wessex, who denounces them as heathens and looks to be the sole ruler of a civilized England. Against all odds, Eivor must do what is necessary to keep Valhalla within reach.

This might shock you, but I liked Origins and Odyssey. I didn't love those two games, but I can see why both of them won critical acclaim and why they went into the Game Awards for the game of the year. Again, I enjoyed those games, but I don't love them. Assassin's Creed Valhalla is simply amazing and exactly what I've been looking for in this new direction they're taking this series.“
